Enrique IglesiasBio Enrique's parents, world famous singer Julio Iglesias and fashion model Isabel Preysler, split when he was 3 years old. Julio moved to Miami to live there permanently, and at the age of 8 Enrique joined him. Enrique enrolled at the University of Miami to study business, but dropped out after just one year, to try to become a singer. For a while Enrique tried to distance himself from his father, even calling himself Enrique Martinez. Enrique soon found he couldn't outrun his famous name, releasing his debut Spanish album simply entitled Enrique Iglesias. It was an astonishing success. An English album soon followed (this time with the even simpler name Enrique) - this was also phenomenally popular. Enrique had started his rise to global fame. |
