Katherine Heigl

Katherine was born in Washington DC, but soon her family moved to New Canaan, Connecticut, where she spent her childhood. When aged 9, her mom approached a local modeling agency, Wilhemina. Several small assignments resulted, including catalog work, and TV commercials. Three years later came her first ever movie appearance, a small part in That Night, a suburban comedy set in the sixties. A major role soon followed, playing opposite Gerard Depardieu in the very funny My Father the Hero.

Upon leaving New Canaan High School, Katherine focused her energies on developing a full-time acting career. In 1999 she landed the part as Isabel Evans, one of four aliens leading secretive lives in the town of Roswell. The successful show ran for 3 seasons, introducing Katherine to a wide audience.

Katherine’s biggest break came in 2005, playing the gorgeous Dr Isobel Stevens in the smash hit TV show Grey’s Anatomy. The series receives huge amounts of praise and positive reviews, and Katherine’s image has risen in parallel. Big movie successes have followed, including stellar lead roles in the rom-com films Knocked Up and 27 Dresses.
