Lauren Conrad
BioLauren was born in Newport Beach, CA. As a child she moved with her family to
Laguna Beach. Her father is a well-regarded professional architect – he actually designed the family’s house in Laguna’s beach. Her mother works in real-estate. Lauren has two siblings, a youger sister Breanna (who starred in season 3 of
Laguna Beach), and a younger brother Brandon.
Lauren was popular with her classmates at High School - fellow pupils voted her ‘Most Irresistible’ in a typically random school poll. When a MTV producer came to the school looking to cast a new reality series, Lauren’s good looks and attractive personality stood out. She and her friends were asked to be ‘goldfish in the bowl’ for a new reality TV show, an opportunity which they readily accepted. The new programme,
Laguna Beach: The Real OC was an amazing hit with teenage girls everywhere.
At the end of series 1 Lauren left for college in
San Francisco to major in fashion design. But after a brief stay in SF, Lauren gave up the course and returned to Laguna Beach to star in series 2. We watched as she worked as an intern at ‘The Three Dots’ clothing company.
By the end of Series 2, MTV were looking to expand their product offering in this genre, and devised a spin-of series to
Laguna Beach, titled
The Hills. Lauren was given a pivotal role in the new drama (
Laguna Beach continued to series 3, but with a fresh cast). In
The Hills we follow as Lauren moves to LA to attend The Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (or FIDM).
In her free time Lauren loves shopping, eating at trendy restaurants, going to the beach, and socializing. Lauren earns an estimated $2.00 million annually for her TV appearances, and product endorsements.
Lauren refuses to see herself as a serious actress declaring ‘acting is an art and I don’t think I have a talent there’, and is determined to carve herself a serious niche in the fashion industry.
