Captain Corelli's MandolinPlot During World War 2, the Italians occupy the small Greek island of Cephallonia. The Italians treat the locals, who after all are their mediterranean neighbours, with courtesy and respect. One of the Italians is the charming and good looking Captain Corelli, whose personal passion is the mandolin. The Captain is billeted at the house of Doctor Iannis. The doctor's daughter, Pelagia, is, at first, disdainful and cold towards the Italian. Living under the same roof, though, helps love to blossom. |
