Rain Man
PlotCharlie Babbit is a fast-talking, deal-making kind of guy. On a weekend trip to Palm Springs with his girlfriend, he gets some bad news. His father, Sanford Babbit has died. Cutting his weekend short, Charlie travels with Susanna to Cincinatti to discuss matters with his father's attornery. To his shock, he finds out that the main beneficiary of the $3m will is a trustfund, to be run by a Dr Bruner, who works at a mental institution.
When Charlie pays Dr Bruner a visit, the doctor refuses to say anything. A frustrated Charlie returns to his car, where he's surprised to find an awkward-speaking, naive-acting, slightly older man talking to his girlfriend. Charlie's even more surprised on finding that the man is his older brother, who is autistic. Charlie begins to think that taking advantage of his brother's simple nature is the only way to get any access to his father's fortune.
