The New World
PlotAt the start of the 17th century, only native Indians live in North America. The Virginia Company sends 3 vessels from England with the mission to form a settlement, in the area now know by the company name, Virginia.
On board one of the ships is John Smith, kept below in irons for mutinous words. When the ships arrive at the American coastline, the Indians stare in wonderment at the new arrivals. John Smith is freed by the captain - his fighting skills will make him useful in the colonisation process. John ventures ashore with the others. As the settlers mark out land for the colony, they inevitably come into contact with the local Algonquian tribes. John Smith is caught up in a fight with a group of warriors, and is taken to Powhatan as a captive. Just as he is about to be executed, the beautiful Pocahontas intervenes to save him. John Smith begins to learn the ways of the Indians from Pocahontas.
