The Princess Bride

Plot

A young boy is lying sick in bed. His grandfather comes to visit, and reads to him. The tale comes alive before our eyes.

The beautiful Buttercup falls in love with the handsome but poor Wesley, who decides, so that they can marry, to go to sea to seek his fortune. Mishap befalls Wesley as his ship is attacked by the Dread Piarate Roberts who we're told, never leaves prisoners alive.

Further misfortune strikes Buttercup, when the Crown Prince Humperdinck picks her to be his bride. On the eave of her wedding, three unlikey allies, a short man with a short temper from Sicily, a master swordsman bent on finding the six-fingered man who killed his father, and a gentle giant from Greenland kidnap her.

Buttercup has to evade her captors, and find out what became of her beloved Wesley.
