St. Moritz
DescriptionSt Moritz is highly fashionable, popular with the jet-set, and very expensive. The resort is divided between two centres, St Moritz Bad - on the beautiful lakeshore, and St Moritz Dorf - the higher village.
It is known the world over for the Cresta run, a 1km long tobogganing run built in 1884. (But as a beginner it's not easy to get a go - unless you're well-connected socially). Skiing-wise, St Moritz is brilliant for expert and intermediate skiiers with lots of challenging steep terrain, but poor for beginners as there are few easy slopes. As you might expect from its pricey reputation, St Moritz has a whole host of designer shops , luxury jewellers, and posh restaurants. And just to cap it all, it's often possible to watch horse-racing or polo.
